Visual Arts


Art

 

Art is offered from years 7-12 and involves the creative expression of ideas through art mediums. Students study drawing, painting, printmaking, sculpture, chemical and digital photography, and computer assisted drawing. Art making involves skill building, and a personal exploration and expression of ideas. Students go on regular excursions to Art Galleries to be challenged and inspired.


Visual Communication & Design

From years 8-12 students have the opportunity to study this varied discipline, which encompasses Graphic Design, Product Design, Industrial Illustration, Interior Design, and Architecture. Students study creative problem solving techniques and develop skills in rendering, technical drawing, model making, and computer assisted design.


Multimedia

 

This visual discipline in enables students to design for screen formats, such as the web, television, film, gaming, and mobile devices. It involves the manipulation of digital imagery, motion and interactive graphics. Students work with digital cameras, scanners and industry standard image manipulation software and respond creatively to set briefs.


Media

 

In Media, students study and analyse the growing field that is “the Media”. They analyse films, and television shows and animations. They also create their own films and animations. Students learn the process of film making, which involves script writing, storyboarding, directing, acting, cinematography, lighting, audio recording, and video editing.
